Messy Buns and Shotguns

Messy Buns & Exploring Long-Range Rifle Shooting

Kimberlee and Maverick Episode 34

Ever wondered how far a bullet can travel? Hear about Mavericks thrilling experience at Bangsteel this past weekend, under the expert guidance of instructors Dan and Forrest, as he hit targets as far as 1.2 miles away! We strip down the science behind bullet velocities and air density, and how it all plays into this art of precision. And guess what? Mavericks self-built Savage 110 precision rifle didn't do half bad either!

Then, let’s shift gears and delve into the realm of relationships. How often do we genuinely express pride in our partners? We chew on this topic, discussing how this simple act can forge stronger bonds and bring about positive transformations. But it's not all serious talk, as we laugh over our wedding rings saga and how it led to a hilarious shopping incident.

Lastly, we touch on the not-so-glamorous side of podcasting - recall and organization. We share our struggles with remembering past topics and discuss our approach to staying organized. We also uphold our motto, "Be safe or be deadly," underlining the need to always push for excellence. Get ready for laughter, insights, and experiences in this episode of Messy Buns and Shotguns!

Speaker 2:

I have an uncontrollable addiction of firearms. Welcome back to another episode of Messy Buns and Shotguns, number 30, whatever 34.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to another episode of Messy Buns and Shotguns. I am your host, Kim, and my co-host.

Speaker 2:

You can't be a host and co-host.

Speaker 1:

You are the co-host, I am the host, you are the co-host. I am excited for today's episode. I feel we have quite a bit to talk about, in a way, mainly you, because I'm going to kind of dedicate this episode to you and your triumph. So you just got back from a long weekend which. I'm very proud of myself for doing so well.

Speaker 2:

You didn't have a meltdown when I was gone.

Speaker 1:

I did not and I did very well.

Speaker 2:

You did very well.

Speaker 1:

But I want to talk about you. So you went this weekend to go do your long rifle shooting at Bank Steel.

Speaker 2:

I did. I went down to Bank Steel and with Will Virginia, with the guys down there, Dan and Forrest. They are outstanding instructors at what they do. I've been looking forward to taking that course. For a while. Built a rifle for it, knowing very little about long range shooting.

Speaker 1:

So is that what this like? What is Bank Steel Like? Tell us about that Bank.

Speaker 2:

Steel is a long range shooting course, long range shooting school, and that's what they do and they are violently good at it. Day one we went down there. We thought we might have had a weather call earlier in the week, but we didn't. The class went on. It was myself and two other shooters and we had an absolute blast of a time. We all met up and went to the range and we had a couple hours of discussion about long range shooting and kind of what you need to take into consideration and things that you wouldn't normally think about in your, if you're an average shooter, in your day to day. I mean, we talked about bullet velocities and rises and falls and angular shooting and how temperature and elevation and air density and everything can change your table because, 90% of the battle is known the distance.

Speaker 2:

Once you know the battle, once you know the distance, I mean you can dial for it and the only thing you have to make a call from there is a wind call. But I learned a lot from those guys. I'm not going to give the whole spiel because I want people to go down there and see them. They have an outstanding class and I was just. I was over the moon. I had a damn good time of blast Day one. We went out there and you know we got made sure, you know, did an equipment check, make sure the rifles are going to perform the standard, and I took the 6-5 that I built on my very limited knowledge on Savage. 110 went down. I did run, it suppressed and we started shooting the targets. So we did our 100 yards zero and like it was on from there. They're like all right, here's what your 600 yards zero is. They're like first targets and like we're going to skip everything in close to like first target 600 yards.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

At first I was like I was like I'm fucking ways, I had six football fields, you know and I was like, all right, so I got down behind the rear bag. Part of the instruction was they give us like hey, this is how you need to use your rear bag. You know when you pull the trigger like this is how you're going to stay on target, and you know, first shot rings out. I hit high and left on that 600 yard target. But I didn't miss the target and I was like all right, the first one was like me like totally, totally janked it.

Speaker 1:

I think you were nervous and excited.

Speaker 2:

I was. I was a little nervous, I was a little excited. I was like if I miss this first shot, I'm going to like be upset. It's like it's going to set the tone. Nailed the first, nailed the first shot, and then it's like all right, I felt myself jerk on that one Right, Run the action and just kept hammering. It laid five shots on target and I was like all right. So then the student behind me came in. Student behind me came in and he's like all right, next one's 720. And I was like we're going to reach out there and just kept dropping steel man Kept drawing targets from 720.

Speaker 2:

We went to 850. Went from 850 to 900, from 900 to 1040, 1040 to 1200. Just kept ringing steel. 1200 was probably one of the more challenging targets because, like I, didn't go up in scope power. So that's really where you really had to start paying attention to, like how you're squeezing the rear bag Because, like, if you're not solid, like if you're, if you're touching the rifle, like if you're squeezing on the rifle, you're like, depending on how you set up behind it, like if you're squeezing on the rifle, even your heartbeat and your breath is going to affect it at that kind of distance.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

So I could tell I was holding the rifle too tight because, like every time, I would like try to take a breath or everything. I could feel my heartbeat and like I'd, watch the rifle.

Speaker 2:

Radical move. I was like let go dummy. So like I let go after the first few rounds and like, dependent on the like, focused on the rear bag, and like just laying my hand across the like, laying my finger across the trigger, and I was like use the rear bag to stabilize the rifle, make sure I'm laying into it and just just slow, steady, trigger press Let the rifle, let it be a surprise when it goes off Rung the 12, 1200 target.

Speaker 2:

So we were going to cycle through that and then they're like but anybody want to shoot for the mile.

Speaker 1:

And I was like I do, hell yeah, I do you do and I was your whole goal the whole time. So there was two goals, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we walked it in. Well, they put me on the target and they're like you see, the target, as I kept got it and the first two at a mile didn't connect, like I was right there. I was like I was probably just just off the left edge of the target. And third shot on the mile whack Dead center. That thing run the action, pulled it again whack.

Speaker 2:

I was like yes, so that was, that was day one, but had had an outstanding time. And then we figured out that I didn't have enough Elevation to dial. And this is when, like I learned that the sat the scope base that comes on the savage rifles. Isn't all that great Would it do what I needed to do, and in a pinch?

Speaker 2:

Yeah 100%, like I was able to dial enough elevation, but if I really wanted to reach out there and after repeated use, like the aluminum, they using those in those scope bases aren't aren't great, and Force gave me some recommendations of where to find one. And then Dan was like I know where one, you can get one in town. And so I went down there and got one. But the way that savage drills those actions, they're using the 848 screws or the 820s and not the 640s, I don't remember the exact number, but it didn't fit.

Speaker 2:

So I was rather impressed with the ingenuity and like the experience that the Dan had, and so what he did is he took the screws out of my gun and put them in a drill and pulled out the leatherman, the file and the leatherman he's, ran them and Laved them down to the. The screws that I had would fit through the weaver and we reamed out the mount so that the screws would go through it and remounted, re-zeroed and and right back out at 1200 yards, right back out.

Speaker 2:

So like I hat tricked the 12, all the targets, all the way out to 1200s like me and one of the other shooters the guy who had the accuracy international, while the other guy was working on some PRS stuff with force. We were just ringing targets with Colonel Ron and we hat tricked everything out to 1200 and he's like you want to go for the mile again? I was like hell yeah, I want to go for the mile again. So I just rolled up on what I knew I needed to dial and like I had the elevation to dial because I put a true 20-minute angle scope base on it.

Speaker 2:

So I had more, I had up to 16, I could dial up to 16 mils in Just the on the dials, and then I had 12 more in the reticle, so like I could reach out in a decent ways. And then, yeah, so I just ran it up and back to back that mild heart. I was like I'm good with that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then?

Speaker 2:

The other shooter brought the accuracy international. It was a beautiful rifle. Like it was fantastic.

Speaker 1:

I've never shot one of those before.

Speaker 2:

I've seen him with a nerd at shot one and he had a tangent theta optic on it. It's just, it was premium, like I want one, so fucking bad now. But, uh, we were. He was shooting at the. The conditions weren't great for shooting at the one mile tar or the, the 1.2 mile tar, 2165 yards. We had some haze on the mountain and the day the first day it was a little too wet, so like we couldn't see the splashes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah and a lot of the shot. So I rolled up behind. She was like, hey, can I put a few rounds through it? And fired the first two and we were able to see where I was and I fired the third one and I hear force just go stand by for impact. And I were waiting you're waiting and it seems like an attorney about eight seconds for the report to come back. When you hear you.

Speaker 2:

Can hear it you can hear it, really you can hear the steel ring if you, if it's real quiet and the conditions are right, and we heard it.

Speaker 2:

Nice, good for you and uh so I nailed my 2165 target on my first trip down there and now I just want to build a rifle that I can do that with my own rifle. Yeah, because my I didn't have enough elevation to dial, even using, even using the mill radians that I had left in the scope, like I couldn't dial even close enough and there wasn't enough, wasn't enough, mills on target for me to like aim for the top of the target because the targets only one meter wide. So I was rather happy with that and I Got to go down and hang out with them and I stayed an extra night because I plan on leaving Sunday anyway.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that's correct, you did got to, got to join them on the bang steel podcast you did. I had a very amazing.

Speaker 1:

For you. When you text me into, you're like I was talking about something and you like cut me off. And you were like hey, baby, baby, baby. And I was like what? And you told me like, and I was just like oh my gosh, I was so, so excited for you, just because I had a blast there.

Speaker 2:

They're just real good down to earth dudes and I listened to the episode and they're damn good at what they do.

Speaker 1:

I got to get a list together for them. Apparently I heard, so yeah. We need to if y'all are listening to this episode, I will get a list and you're listening to you, gentlemen. Because I feel your pain. Like I, we went if you listen any of our episodes round and round my computer finally could put on me and so I am improvising and finally spent a little money and got some some items. So I'll send you the list of Of what we're doing. But yeah, you so talk about that. So how was the podcast?

Speaker 2:

It was good. I mean, I listened to their podcast every week. I listened all the bonus episodes they release. I really want to try and get down to their Mentor match. That, the next mentor match that they have. I just wasn't ready for it when they had it the first time.

Speaker 1:

I Like listen to their podcast, not only because they're like funny a lot of the time, but like they're very knowledgeable, like and I like cuz, like I listen to you, like they are, so like I listen to them and I'm just like whoa, like I don't even know what they're half the stuff they're talking about, but it's very knowledgeable information so y'all should definitely. If you're into like long range rifle shooting, you should definitely listen to.

Speaker 2:

But modern standard. This is going to be considered extreme long range.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so, but they're the bang steel long range shooting podcast and you can listen to them on Apple. About anywhere you can find us, you can find them. So I enjoy listening to them and I I'm definitely going to go back multiple times.

Speaker 2:

I want to go down for.

Speaker 1:

I would like to go.

Speaker 2:

We'll have to build your rifle actually, if I can build the PRC. So they gave me recommendation. I was thinking I wanted to build 338 La Pua well, you know my Magnum right and they actually gave me the recommendation at 300 PRC is going to be a little better. The only thing I'm going to lose is a few you know foot pounds at Target. So the only Back and forth that I have is if I was going to go 300 338, la Pua mag is I would still maintain an anti material capability if I needed to.

Speaker 2:

But I was looking yesterday on the RS R vendor and I found a Bergara HMR 26 inch, 300 PRC On a blim sale. Like I'm much like how I got my savage with a damaged case for like less than a thousand dollars. So I was like, oh, I want to do it so bad. Like I said, you know my response to that and you want a new computer after we just got on stuff.

Speaker 1:

I do want a computer. I only bought an iPad. I'm paying for the iPad, okay, anywho, but what so? I don't remember we went, did we talk about?

Speaker 2:

because, speaking of, since we're on the topic of I Don't remember if we talked about you going trying out handguns.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if we did or not, but anywho, I'm gonna kind of segue.

Speaker 1:

So that was a really good trip for you came back on a high You've been writing the high for a couple days now and I'm very happy for you, I'm very proud of you.

Speaker 1:

And you know, something I kind of want to Segway into a little bit, because we do talk about, you know, marriage and stuff on this podcast as well. As Last night we were, we were going to bed I told you that I was proud of you and I kind of wanted just and I kind of felt like that meant a lot to you. I'm just and I just kind of think that, like you know, I kind of notes a lot like like people sit there and they'll tell you like I'm proud of you, I love you, yada, yada, yada, like on a daily bait, like we tell each other a lot that we're I'm proud of you, you're gonna do great. You're doing great, you're phenomenal. But I think, sometimes taking that time when your like even if it's a family member of, just like when you least expect it, versus like when something big is going on, when they really accomplish.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah Like when you accomplish goals at work or something happens, you're like, oh, I just crushed, like good, great, I'm so proud of you. Like you did awesome. Or like when you like nail a test or something like that, like I'm so proud of you. But I think when it comes to like, life is kind of you know what did me?

Speaker 2:

it mean I did. It did mean a lot to me, like I put months of work and research into that rifle. But it's not even that and I spent lots of time on the range like trying to get, trying to get, like my, my shot pattern, like trying to get. I know I need to be within a within a minute of angle, at a hundred yards, like I need to put more time behind the gun to be able to make those long-distance shots.

Speaker 1:

But it's not that I'm just talk. I'm talking about like just in general, like when you're not expecting it To have someone that you really, that you love and care about and all these things, to sit there and just kind of just look at you, or even when you're laying in bed and just say I Just want you to know no one's told you lately. You know, like I'm very proud of you, I'm a proud of everything you do, like what you provide. You know how far you've come, how hard you work. Like just that I'm actually like and I it Feels different than the normal.

Speaker 1:

Yeah proud of you, you know.

Speaker 1:

And so I felt like last night and I think, like you know Communication and taking that time and saying things like cuz, like I did that with my sister recently, like her and I were chatting on the phone a little while ago and you know she's always doing stuff and I kind of felt like you know When's the last time that someone ever said that they were Legit proud of you or just said like I'm proud of you? You know, like versus out of the like good job, proud of you.

Speaker 1:

Right and I told her that like we were just kind of on the phone and she was talking about stuff and I said I like I just kind of felt it, I was like you know, I just want you to know that I'm really, really proud of you, you know, and and that meant a lot and so I think about that with us. You know, like we've come a long way, especially like communication wise, like we communicate a Whole lot better. Are you watching tiktok's when I'm trying to steal my heart out to you right now?

Speaker 2:

No.

Speaker 1:

No, but I just kind of feel like that's really important, you know, just like, do you think about people that you're going through hard times and kind of when they're having those moments of just letting them know that you know, you're proud of them and what they're accomplishing and what they're doing, and that it's all gonna be okay and that it's all gonna come together and you know, and they're not alone, you know.

Speaker 2:

So I think it's important that you like take the time outside of like what your normal routine would be and like having no shit conversation. They like, hey, they come back to earth for a second and Like have a heartfelt conversation. Yeah, so I was they could be day savers.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what. So I kind of felt like that was and I kind of felt like so with that. Also, speaking of marriage, we have a little thing where we like to. We always go around saying this is this is why we're married, because we have little off-the-wall things we're.

Speaker 1:

We'll say the same thing at the same time, at the same time thinking the same thing at the same time, say it or whatever, and I always forget to write them all down because I want to kind of use them as little skits on the podcast. But I wrote one down yesterday, so lately, because we are married, I have a wedding ring and I have not purchased you one yet, so we've been married for almost eight. We've been together for almost eight years. Married for almost five this year and.

Speaker 2:

Me dammit from my mom wedding ring, that shitty.

Speaker 1:

I bought the one you wanted. I know, yeah, but I'm One two.

Speaker 2:

You bought the one.

Speaker 1:

outside of that, I bought the one you wanted, you're right you did, and anywho so.

Speaker 2:

It's not my fault. It turned your finger green.

Speaker 1:

Well, it was. I'm allergic to it, so that's it, it doesn't matter, I have one, you do not. So the one you want. I do want to get you, yes, but so it's been, I'm sure. Many days, so much crap.

Speaker 2:

I have a, you have a guy in your eyes and I want to ring. I don't really care, mind your own. Our marriage is fine.

Speaker 1:

So recently you've been asked if you were married because it was brought to the attention that you did not have a wedding ring.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And my instant out reaction was I'm buying you a damn red wing this weekend.

Speaker 2:

So did I do that no?

Speaker 1:

but so the point is. So last night we were watching, just go with it. And if you haven't seen it, it's a movie with. It's a rom-com with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, and he basically uses a wedding ring to sleep with chicks.

Speaker 1:

So we're watching this together and she is not caring the girl is not caring about any of the guys who are hitting on her that are single, but the one married guy who's just trying to be sweet. She decides oh, your marriage is whatever, and let me just take me home. And so at the same time, you look at me and I look at you and you say and you want me to get a wedding ring.

Speaker 1:

And I said you're never getting a wedding ring Like at the same, like just like simultaneously, and we both started laughing and I was like this is why we're married. But I am going to get you a wedding ring one day.

Speaker 2:

I believe it when I see it.

Speaker 1:

Well, you know, the one you want is a little expensive, so not that bad Compared to most wedding bands for men.

Speaker 2:

Have you seen those wedding?

Speaker 1:

bands Speaking of wedding bands.

Speaker 2:

We, oh, my God.

Speaker 1:

So, speaking of like, I don't need you.

Speaker 2:

I had to go get size for a band.

Speaker 1:

We went to go get size for a wedding band so I could, you know, get him a wedding. So we decided to go into Zales to get measured and I was looking around and of course, ladies trying to, you know, sell us some stuff.

Speaker 2:

She was trying to sell it. So hard to sell it.

Speaker 1:

Me, if any of you who know me, I, without even thinking about it, tend to just pick the most expensive thing in the store and I'm like, oh, that's cute, and then it ends up being the most expensive. So I found this really cute, beautiful it was, and it wasn't even extra, like it wasn't crazy big, it wasn't like a huge, like it was like decent, normal size, I thought.

Speaker 2:

I don't, I don't know what normal would be.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't like taking up my whole finger. The rock was not like it was a normal reggae. It just looks just like the one I have.

Speaker 2:

I have another comment when you're done telling the story.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's fine. So I'm looking at it. We're like, oh, this is such a beautiful set, yada, yada, yada. Okay, let's make a wish list. I'm thinking, yeah, we know, in a million years, whatever, like I always thought, maybe when we get to 10 years of marriage, like we could really buy, then hopefully maybe get something a little more, whatever, it doesn't matter. Anyway, we leave the store and as we're walking out and we're walking through the store, if we get measured, and she makes the wish list for him and all that stuff, which I know is never going to happen, which.

Speaker 1:

I'm not expecting it to, so don't like think anything like that.

Speaker 2:

But not with the next part of the story.

Speaker 1:

You walked on. You Did you see the price of that ring?

Speaker 2:

And I said no, honey, I don't look at the price.

Speaker 1:

I was just looking at the ring. He goes well, the band, just the band was five grand. The ring was 15,000.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it was 15 all together.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it was 15 all together.

Speaker 2:

The ring itself was 10,000. Fuck it. No, she's like we have 18 months. No interest in the way. I was like, yeah, bullshit.

Speaker 1:

I said oh no, no, no. I said, honey, I don't want that, I'll take a car and a computer. Thank you, fuck that 18,000, 15,000 dollars I said I don't need that, I'd rather have a brand new car Get out of here.

Speaker 2:

She would send me a follow up email with my wish list on it.

Speaker 1:

Well, ok, maybe I'll post that. I was like delete, delete.

Speaker 1:

It was. I mean, it was a very pretty ring but I did not think it to be that expensive. I was like I would expect to the ones that have like the bigger rock and whatever on it, like diamonds all the way around, to be that amount. I was not. It was like it wasn't even a full carrot. I don't think, I don't know, but not that you know anything about that, ladies who listen to this. But it was. It was quite funny. So what's your comment that you wanted to add on to the end of it?

Speaker 2:

Remember when she asked you do you want real diamonds or lab diamonds? Yeah and I told her I was like, we want real ones, because that means somebody had to fight over them bitches.

Speaker 1:

You didn't think your comment.

Speaker 2:

I think that was funny. I thought it was hilarious.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she didn't think it was funny. But um turn, what else? What else went on? Oh, while you were gone. So, oh man, sorry, it's like I've been eating a lot of spicy food lately and my heartburn has just been like out of control, so we got to Baby sit or house at our roommate, our friends dog, last week our roommate, no longer roommate, it's dog last week, aries and him, and it's where our like best friends.

Speaker 1:

And you know how, like when you go to a friend's house and you have a really great time and then, like after so long, you decide I'm ready to go home or I'm gonna stay here. Yes, you never like went and stayed at your friend's house and then, like after Like a week or so, you're like I'm ready to go home.

Speaker 2:

I do that anywhere I go, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1:

Aries did that. So like right when you left. I don't know if it was because of the full moon last week, but right when you left mark here.

Speaker 2:

He was in Gatorade.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for real. Like all hell broke loose into the house.

Speaker 1:

Aries said I'm jumping through the fence fucking new alpha dog was gone and Well, actually, aries left the day, the night before you were leaving, and he jumped through the fence and luckily the neighbor and I'm like, are you fucking kidding me? Like they've been great all week. And now it's like they know you're getting ready to leave. So it's like what can I get away with? Like what the heck? And I mean it just became children. Like I had toddlers and I was yelling at them every day and they were fine, they were playing and they were fine. And then the next thing, you know, they're fighting over a damn toy. And I'm like and then people wonder why we do not have children. I am yelling at dogs, but they had a great time, like Weston, christina, don't worry like no, they had a great time. Aries is always welcome anytime.

Speaker 1:

But it was just so funny because I got like a true, like they were getting along, they would cuddle, they would do this, and then the next minute they were fighting with each other. And I'm like what is wrong with all of you? And I think Aries kind of got to a point where he was like okay, I think mom and dad have left me here, so I'm gonna start staking claim. And that's when I was like okay, let's reel it in Cause. Like then he was like I'm gonna take cause. At first he just kind of stuck. He has like a toy here that he likes and he pretty much played with that the whole time and then I think he kind of got in his head like I think they left me here and he started taking all the toys.

Speaker 1:

And I was like okay, we can't do that bro. I had to, like, have a talking to him. I'd have a talking to Thor. I'd have had talking to Simba. I'd have a talking with the cat, like I had to have a talking-.

Speaker 2:

The cat was not about it.

Speaker 1:

She's never about it. She was okay for a couple of days and then she was like what the fuck is happening? And then at night it was peaceful, Everyone slept, but then it was that the moment the rooster rises.

Speaker 2:

The rooster rises.

Speaker 1:

Is that the moment the rooster crows, the sun rises? The rooster crows, yeah that.

Speaker 2:

That moment, the rooster rises and the sun crows. Jesus.

Speaker 1:

I mean, they were at it, it was a great time, but it was just like, oh, people were like why don't you have kids? I go, I have kids, I have dogs.

Speaker 2:

They're covered in hair.

Speaker 1:

And yeah, they are just covered in hair. But it was so funny. And then. It was so funny because then when you got back they were all excited that you were home. But by then Aries had already gone home, so but he was so excited when they got here he was like, oh my God, they're back. Why are you leaving me again? He didn't howl once and Christina has always told me that every time she leaves the house he goes frantic.

Speaker 2:

He never did that once, because he had friends and people.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm telling you, no, it was so funny. So we went across the street to Melissa's to go over there for a little bit the moment she left. Oh, I've never heard a noise come out of that dog before. A dog like that, like at all. The noise that came out of him you would have thought you were torturing a child. Like I was like, is that him? She goes yep all the time. And I was like, oh, he hasn't done that once since you guys have been gone, like it was hilarious, but not at the same time. But then he stopped, so anyhow, but so it was a it's been. It was an interesting week last week. It was a great weekend for you.

Speaker 2:

It was a great weekend for me. I had a really good weekend. I can't wait to go back. I had so much fun down there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I would love to go with you next time. But yeah, I did well without you for four days. You did Fine. So good. I've been doing better, so that was another little.

Speaker 2:

Little win for you.

Speaker 1:

Little win for me. I only felt a little off on set, but I think it's because I got too much sun and didn't drink enough water. So Probably. Because I was. I drank more water Sunday and I was still in the, but I was kind of hoping we would have a more better storm last night than we did.

Speaker 2:

It was kind of anti-climactic, at least in our little bubble.

Speaker 1:

I know I'm so sad I saw. Did you see the video I sent you over in Westminster? No, oh my gosh, they have.

Speaker 2:

In Westminster, that's in like England.

Speaker 1:

No, no, what, what?

Speaker 2:

is it yeah, Westminster Abbey's in England?

Speaker 1:

No, not, no, you're stupid. You're such a butt. Oh, my God, you know what? I'm just gonna go make you dinner. I need to go make dinner anyways. Where's you gonna end on that note?

Speaker 2:

I mean, I don't have to cook dinner.

Speaker 1:

Do you want to cook dinner? No, I think I was like when's the last time you cooked dinner beside steaks?

Speaker 2:

I did. What'd I do the other day? The other day, no, I did the steaks, you did the steaks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was last week.

Speaker 2:

That's fair.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna get paid till Thursday. I gotta figure out my life out there, figure out things out Anyhow. But yeah, I think we're coming up on 30 minutes. I think it's good.

Speaker 2:

It's a good one for me.

Speaker 1:

Anything else you'd like to add? I'm really exhausted. I went on a three mile walk earlier.

Speaker 2:

Work was crazy today. Yeah, work is, I think, everything going on in the world.

Speaker 1:

so, yeah, work was crazy for me too, but way more crazy for you.

Speaker 2:

Oh my goodness, it's about to get nuts.

Speaker 1:

Hmm.

Speaker 2:

Well, I'm praying for you.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate it.

Speaker 2:

I pray for the world every day. Now the world will all scoffs.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't think so. I'm hopeful.

Speaker 2:

We need another like real good war.

Speaker 1:

You say that, but I don't want to.

Speaker 2:

When's the last time we had a real good one, I mean we've been in one for like the last 10 years.

Speaker 1:

That wasn't a good one.

Speaker 2:

That was politicians fighting. Oh well, I'd rather not be in war, not to take away from the service members who had to go fight.

Speaker 1:

I just want to live a happy, fulfilled life. A happy, fulfilled, peaceful life.

Speaker 2:

I think I need to clarify that one. Like anyone who was in the 20 year war we just got out of in the worst way possible, my argument is not against you. You got orders, you went and fight and did what you were told, much like I did. My problem with you. You guys fought the good fight. You, men and women, fought the good fight. I think it was lining the pockets of politicians and it's bullshit.

Speaker 1:

I agree. I think we need another world war. Or like a civil war.

Speaker 2:

Not a civil war. That's coming. That's coming too. As much division as there is in the country and all the bullshit how they're weaponizing the legal system.

Speaker 1:

Okay, actually I have a question what is up with this whole alien thing?

Speaker 2:

The government just told us that aliens exist.

Speaker 1:

Oh, they did. I'll have a minke. I just saw like.

Speaker 2:

See, this is why you need to like. See, it's all over the place.

Speaker 1:

Everyone's like. I haven't like deep dived into it because I'm like.

Speaker 2:

The government existed, admitted to like.

Speaker 1:

But everyone's already known this, so like what? They tried to cover it up. Yeah, well, shouldn't they know that the world we live in today, you can't cover shit up.

Speaker 2:

I mean fair.

Speaker 1:

I mean, so what Like are we gonna start going to other galaxies now, other planets? Where are they coming from? Do they talk to them? What's the 411? What's the?

Speaker 2:

I admit nothing, deny everything. I will make counter accusations.

Speaker 1:

I know that's right. Alright well, we'll end it on that. Nothing To be continued on the alien front maybe. I don't know, I'll forget about it next week. I forget like. I'm always asking like, did we talk about this already? But I feel like it's a lot of work if I go back and listen to previous episodes, but I try to like make notes.

Speaker 2:

That's fair.

Speaker 1:

I'm working on it. We'll work in progress.

Speaker 2:

That's okay, until the next time. Be safe, or be deadly, I'll say our unit, Be good or be good at it, and ask yourself did you America today?

Speaker 1:

Bye.
